In collaboration with the Health Department and funded by the District Health Society, the Ladakh Heart Foundation organized a comprehensive health awareness workshop today at Army Goodwill School Karu.
The workshop, aimed at addressing the rising prevalence of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, heart diseases, and cancer in Ladakh due to sedentary lifestyles, featured expert speakers advocating for healthy lifestyles and dietary habits. Participants were enlightened on the importance of adopting healthier choices and steering clear of junk food.
Students exhibited keen interest throughout the workshop, actively engaging with the expert speakers and posing various health-related queries. Their enthusiasm underscored the significance of such initiatives in fostering health consciousness among the youth.
Expressing gratitude, the school's principal and staff members extended sincere thanks to the Ladakh Heart Foundation and the Health Department Leh for organizing the event. They also urged for future collaborations to continue spreading awareness and fostering healthier habits within the community.
