18/03/2024- the Ladakh Heart Foundation, in collaboration with the Health Department Leh, organized a comprehensive Health Awareness Campaign at Govt High School, Skalzangling. The event aimed to educate and empower students on various aspects of health, including nutrition, lifestyle choices, environmental protection, and their impact on overall well-being.
Dr. Nordan Otzer, a prominent ENT surgeon, addressed the audience on the critical role of nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices in preventing Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as cancer, heart diseases, and diabetes. His insightful session shed light on the importance of adopting healthier habits to safeguard against these prevalent health concerns.
Another speaker, Jigmet Singge, emphasized the vital connection between environmental protection and human health. Highlighting the indirect impact of environmental factors on our well-being, Singge highlighted the significance of preserving and caring for our environment for the benefit of current and future generations.
